This is a tour rich in scenery and a chance to enjoy this lush section of the Italian Riviera.
The tour begins From Genoa pier with a 90 minutes air-conditioned minivan with private driver and a licenced professional english speaking guide riding to Riomaggiore
The Cinque Terre consists of five small villages (“Cinque terre” means “five lands” in Italian) Riomaggiore Manarola Corniglia Vernazza and Monterosso: they are considered to be the epitome of
nature and where wild scents abound.
The Cinque terre are a combination of wild coastline and rugged mountain, part of the UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
To visit the Cinque Terre means to experience five unique villages; each is suspended between sea and earth, clinging onto cliffs and surrounded by green hills.
The scenery from above Riomaggiore (1st town) is breathtaking.
Once arrived your professional guide will start walking through its houses which cluster both sides of the valley.
The constructions in each town of Cinque Terre seem so daring that one often wonders how can these mediaeval buildings have survived the centuries despite their extremely unstable location.
The walk down will end at the ancient marina, that is still intact as it was about 1000 years ago is one of the most attractive corners of Cinque Terre.
The tour continues onto the famous "Via dell'Amore" (Path of Love) a romantic, easy and flat trail carved along the cliffs that offers spectacular views over the coastline, and connects Riomaggiore to Manarola .
At each step the scenery, the rock formations, the vegetation and colors change completely.
Manarola is possibly the most photogenic of the five town, it’s composed by an myriad of alleys which go all around it and walking along toward the point of the promontory will allow you to have the most breathtaking view of it.
Lunch is at your leisure in one of the very good local restaurants
Local Specialties : Pasta with Pesto sauce, seafood, fresh vegetables and good local wines.
The visit will continue using either a local train or ferry (wheather conditions permitting) which ride along the Cinque Terre coastline that in about 10 minutes will reach Vernazza and Monterosso.
Return to Genoa Pier by minivan .
